Combustion Tuning Test:
- Chugai Technos, having gained the trust of the contractor Babcock & Wilcox Vietnam, successfully conducted the combustion tuning test for the boiler and auxiliary systems following the overhaul of the Unit 2, with bellow items:
- Air balance test.
 - Adjustment of primary air (PA), secondary air (SA) and dirty air (DA).
 - Coal fineness check.
 - Combustion tuning check.

 - Scope of Works:
- Measurement of primary air (PA), secondary air (SA) and dirty air (DA) flow rates.
 - Measurement of air flow at coal injection pipes.
 - Continuous monitoring of temperature, NOx-CO-CO2-O2 concentrations at the outlet of the economizer.
 - Monitoring and analysis of exhaust gas quality at the outlet of the economizer.
 - Sampling and analysis of coal injected into the boiler.
 - Sampling and analysis of fly ash quality.

 - Use of a simple and easily assembled equipment system to meet the specific requirements of the sampling location (horizontal pipes, off-floor sampling holes, limited space).
 - Parameters for monitoring and analysis:
- Exhaust gas: temperature, pressure, velocity, flow rate, moisture content, gas composition (O2, CO2, and N2), dust concentration; NOx-SO2-CO-CO2-O2 concentration;
 - Fine coal: particle size, unburned carbon (UBC).

 - Report contents:
- Basic exhaust gas parameters (including temperature, pressure, velocity, flow rate, moisture content, gas composition).
 - NOx-SO2-CO-CO2-O2 concentration;
 - Dust concentration;
 - Distribution of temperature, velocity, dust concentration; NOx-CO-CO2-O2 concentration;
 - Analysis result of coal and fly ash.

 - Chugai Technos engineering team carried out the work under challenging nighttime operational conditions at the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant, in close coordination with the operations unit. Accurate and timely data provision was ensured. Leveraging the expertise of experienced engineers and industry-leading specialists from Japan, Chugai Technos worked collaboratively with the customer to develop the optimal plan, meeting real-world conditions and supporting the boiler manufacturer in operating the system under the best possible conditions.
