Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant – AIG Tuning, SCR Performance Test – Unit S2

Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG) Adjustment and SCR De-NOx System Performance Test:

Chugai Technos, entrusted by the Institute of Mechanical Research (the main contractor), successfully carried out the task of adjusting the Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG) and inspecting the performance of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for Unit S2.

Utilizing a simple and easily assembled equipment system capable of accommodating both horizontal and vertical pipelines, even in challenging and confined spaces, the monitoring equipment adheres to the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).

Scope of Work:

  • Adjustment of Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG): Survey of valve opening ratios, NOx distribution at the outlet; Adjustment of the injection valve assembly; Confirmation of NOx and NH3 distribution post-adjustment.
  • Performance Check of SCR: Emission monitoring, pressure differential measurement, ammonia consumption survey.

Monitoring Parameters: Temperature, pressure, velocity, flow rate, humidity, gas composition (O2, CO2, and N2), concentrations of SO2, SO3, NH3; continuous monitoring of NOx/O2 using gas analysis equipment.

Report Content:

  • Valve opening ratios, NOx distribution coefficients before and after adjustment;
  • Basic exhaust gas parameters;
  • NOx/O2 concentrations;
  • NOx reduction efficiency;
  • NH3 leakage quantity;
  • NH3/NOx mole ratio;
  • SO2 conversion ratio;
  • Distribution diagrams: flow velocity, temperature, NOx/O2 concentration, NH3;
  • Comparison of actual measurements with DCS data;
  • Data analysis, comprehensive evaluation, and proposal for improvement.

Chugai Technos engineering team carried out the project under challenging nighttime operating conditions, aligning with the operational schedule of Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant. With the support of highly experienced Japanese experts, Chugai Technos effectively utilized available resources to collaboratively develop the most optimal plan, meeting real-world conditions and ensuring the successful completion of the project as per the timeline.
